The GWM Catch Up Finals Day: Veselko and Willcox establish themselves as CT qualification frontrunners with Newcastle victories

Mereweather Beach provided all the epic memories from start to finish to crown Jacob Willcox and Francsica Veselko 2025 Burton Automotive Newcastle SURFEST Presented by Bonsoy victors.

Maiden Challenger Series victories for both Veselko and Willcox send them straight to No. 1 on the quest for 2026 CT qualification in spectacular fashion. Veselko's dominant performance through Finals Day included a massive Semifinal win over Tya Zebrowski before taking on CT veteran Sally Fitzgibbons for the 2025 SURFEST title. Then, the beach erupted every major moment for Willcox in a stout Final with 2024 Olympic Gold Medalist Kauli Vaast.

9-point rides, more dominant showings, and the epic finale to send off a historic chapter of the SURFEST legacy didn't disappoint. Now, surfers set their eyes to the battleground of the Ballito Pro Presented by O'Neill where competitors are back to square one beginning June 30 through July 6.
